I was very fortunate to make two tours around Oman.
Starting in the north and following the coastline all the way down to Muscat the capital. There are plenty of small quaint fishing villages and beaches along the Gulf of Oman which gave me lots of photo opportunities. Covering around 3500 kms on both tours I was able to see many wonderful scenes and experience the very humble and friendly Omani hospitality.
A few highlights from both my tours include, Muscat Grand Mosque, The Eastern Hajjar Mountains, Sur, Ras Al Jinz Green Turtle Reserve, Wadi Bani Khalid, The vast Wahiba Sands desert with my 4x4, Cultural Nizwa and surrounding area, Jebel Shams (Omani Grand Canyon). These are just a few highlights but there were many memorable stops along the way in remote villages such as Umq in the Hajjar mountains and many more. I would highly recommend visiting Oman and hiring a 4x4 to cover all the beautiful spots I managed to get to which many are only accessible by 4x4.
